Monaghan AeroChamber Mini Aerosol Holding Chamber is a new and unique device that is designed to deliver pMDI aerosols to patients in conjunction with mechanical ventilation, manual resuscitation bag and standard aerosol resuscitation mask. It is comprised of an anti-static, dual chamber design. The patented exhalation channel has a one way valve that preserves aerosol dose and minimizes dead space.

  • Instructions For Use With Resuscitation Bag:
    - If using a GlaxoSmithKline MDI canister equipped with an integrated dose counter, remove the Canister Adapter from the unit. For all other canisters leave white Canister Adapter in port.
    - Attach the resuscitation bag to the AeroChamber mini HC.
    - Shake the MDI canister immediately before use as per the instructions supplied with the MDI.
    - Insert the MDI canister into the Canister Port of the AeroChamber mini HC.
    - Disconnect the patients endotracheal or tracheal tube from the ventilator circuit. Immediately attach the AeroChamber mini HC to the endotracheal or tracheal tube and re-establish ventilatory support. The arrow on the device should always point towards the patient and the Canister Port must be on top as shown.
    - While holding the MDI canister vertically, depress the MDI. Immediately deliver a manual breath by squeezing the resuscitation bag. Administer one (1) puff at a time to achieve the prescribed number of doses.
    - Follow instructions supplied with MDI on how long to wait before repeating step 6 as prescribed. Between delivering prescribed puffs, ensure the patient is appropriately ventilated.
    - Following treatment, disconnect the AeroChamber mini HC from patient and reconnect ventilator circuit to patients endotracheal or tracheal tube. Return the AeroChamber mini HC to its protective bag.
  • Instructions For Use In Ventilator Circuit:
    - If using a GlaxoSmithKline MDI canister equipped with an integrated dose counter, remove the Canister Adapter from the unit. For all other canisters leave white Canister Adapter in port.
    - Shake the MDI canister immediately before use as per the instructions supplied with the MDI.
    - Insert the MDI canister into the Canister Port of the AeroChamber mini HC.
    - Disconnect the ventilator circuit from the patients endotracheal airway. Immediately attach one end of the AeroChamber mini HC to the patients endotracheal tube and the other end to the wye vent circuit and re-establish ventilatory support. The arrow on the device should always point towards the patient and the Canister Port must be on top as shown.
    - While holding the MDI canister vertically, fully depress the MDI prior to the beginning of inspiration. Administer one (1) puff at a time to achieve the prescribed number of doses.
    - Follow instructions supplied with MDI on how long to wait before repeating step 5 as prescribed. Between delivering prescribed puffs, ensure the patient is appropriately ventilated. Following treatment, disconnect the AeroChamber mini HC from patient and reconnect ventilator circuit to patients endotracheal or tracheal tube. Return the AeroChamber mini HC to its protective bag.
