Medline Cetirizine Tablets is an antihistamine. It is an H1-receptor antagonist that can be taken orally. Cetirizine is a racemic compound composed of (R)-levocetirizine and (S)-dextrocetirizine. At acidic pH, it occurs as a zwitterion and is absorbed via passive diffusion. It improves symptoms of hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy, watery eyes, and nose or throat itching.
